| Interfacing refers to the transfer of data between an analyzer and PC (known as host). Bidirectional interfacing involves transferring of data from across the PC (host) to the analyzer as well from the analyzer to the host. Unidirectional interfacing, as the term implies, only involves transfer of data from the analyzer to PC. Solar edge, an interfacing software tool, which can also function as a stand alone application, facilitates the communication between a PC and one or more laboratory analyzers. In the unidirectional mode Solar Edge enables transfer of results from an analyzer to the host, with the provision for result verification and updation into the result reporting module of Solar or any third party LIMS. In the bidirectional mode, Solar Edge, in addition to uploading of test results, enables the automatic downloading of tests to be performed on a sample onto the respective analyzer.
